There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. – Hebrews 4:9
Here on earth the believer enters into rest by faith; the Christian enjoys rest even in the wilderness; the promise is fulfilled. “They shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.” God giveth to His beloved sleep; there is a peace that passeth all understanding, which we may enjoy even in this land of turmoil, strife, and alarms, a peace which the worldling knoweth not of, nor can he guess it.
“A holy calm within the heart,
The pledge of glorious rest.
Which for the church of God remains,
The end of cares, the end of pains.”
But beloved, drink as we may of the cup of peace, the good wine is kept until a future time. The peace we drink to-day is dashed with some drops of bitter. There are disturbing thoughts; the cares of this world will come, doubts will arise; live as we may in this world, we must have disquietudes; thorns in the flesh must come. But oh! the “rest that remaineth for the people of God.” What good wine shall that be! God hath a sun without a spot, a sky without a cloud, a day without a night, a sea without a wave, a world without a tear. Happy are they who, having passed through this world, have entered into rest, and ceased from their own works, as God did from His, bathing their weary souls in seas of heavenly rest. ~ C.H. Spurgeon

Hi Sherry I saw you comment about The Name of Jesus I hate it when unregenerate people use His Name as a curse for ironic because His Name is the Only Name that can save them.

Hi Bibleguy, I’m not sure that the Bible totally agrees with Spurgeon on this point. I love Spurgeon’s teaching and mostly agree, but Daniel was told at the end of his book ch 12 that he would enter his rest at the end of days or the end of the age. Paul tells us the same in 2 Thessalonians chapter 1, and it appears that the souls under the altar with the Lord where Spurgeon now resides are calling out in prayer. Your thoughts?

Not a problem, brother!
Remember what Jesus said to the thief on the cross? And where do we go when we die but into His presence? Those under the altar are the Tribulation saints. The Church is with the Lord. Excuse my butting in… 🙂
Have a blessed day, Jerry, amen! \o/

Amen Sherry I agree 100% the Church is in heaven not on Earth during the 7 year Tribulation if we were then why need the two wittinesses of the 144,000 when we would give the Antichrist a headache but we won’t be here for for it that’s why they are there as God has said in His Word.

Yes, he would say can I get an Advil but we won’t be here for the Antichrist but he’s going to need a ton of Advil for when the 2 Witnesses and the 144,000 are on the scene talk about a major headache.

We all need a good laugh at times with everything goin on agree?

Yes, I agree! Maybe the reason for their short-lived celebration at the death of the two witnesses will be because their headaches are gone!

Where does it say Spurgeon is under the altar? Spurgeon is with Jesus in Heaven as the Word says.“We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”
II Corinthians 5:8 NKJV Those under the altar are those who were left behind and became Christians during the Tribulation.

How do we answer Amillennialism?

I don’t know how to answer amillennialism except to use scriptures and logic. And pray for their eyes of understanding to be opened.

Why is it people believe what teachers say about Amillennialism , Post Trib or Mid trib but don’t search the Bible to find out the Bible supports Pre Trib?

I don’t know, brother. But their convictions are as strong as ours. We just have to pray for them to see the truth of the pre-trib rapture.
