This is Our Comfort

Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: – Galatians 1:4

O Lord Jesus, what are those wounds in Thy side, and in Thy hands? He answers, “These I endured when suffering for thee. How can I forget thee? I have graven thee upon the palms of My hands. How can I ever fail to remember thee? On My very heart the spear has written thy name.” Look at Jesus, dead, buried, risen, and then say, “He loved me, and gave Himself for me”! There is no restorative for a sinking faith like a sight of the wounded Saviour. Look, soul, and live by the proofs of His death! Come and put thy finger, by faith, into the print of the nails, and these wounds shall heal thee of unbelief. The wounds of our Lord are the tokens of His love.

He must have died; for “one of the soldiers, with a spear, pierced His side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare witness.” The Son of God did assuredly die. God, who made the heavens and the earth, took to Himself our nature, and in one wondrous person He was both God and man; and lo! this wondrous Son of God bore sufferings unutterable, and consummated all by His death. This is our comfort, for if He died in our stead, then we shall not die for our sins; our transgression is put away, and our iniquity is pardoned. If the sacrifice had never been slain we might despair; but since the spear-wound proves that the great Sacrifice really died, despair is slain, hope revives, and confidence rejoices.~ C.H. Spurgeon

      • Your welcome Sherry you have a blessed day too. I got a question what do we say to Christians who say there’s no Rapture and things like that I got a comment can I share it with you? Wouldn”t you agree that and im not saying this is true at all but if there”s no Rapture we might as well rip the pages the talk about the pre trib Rapture out of our Bibles?

      • Well, we won’t rip out the pages of the Bible that talk of the pre-trib Rapture but will stay faithful to our Beloved’s Word. Let them mess with God’s Holy Word but tremble and pray for them. We can’t reason with those who do not see the literal pre-trib Rapture and the literal Millenial Reign in the Word because they have been put on a spiritualizing of Scriptures foundation. Just leave it to our Lord to bring them out of their blindness and keep praying for them.

      • I agree it was Pastor JD who said that he talked about the Rapture in his sermon on Psalm 44 I only saw a little bit and parts of it I didn’t watch the whole thing. It’s really sad when people mess with God’s Word like for example the Word says women can’t be Pastors but churches have women Pastors which is unbiblical. What do you mean by tremble and pray for them just wondering. The Pre Trib Rapture is a comfort to those of use who have lost loved ones who have gone before us agree? I will leave it with the Lord and pray for them that’s all we can do.

      • One should always fear for our brethren’s sake when they mess with God’s Word, making it say what it does not and ignoring what it does say. God’s judgement is on them and they don’t even know it most times. May God open their eyes to see what His Word says and means.

The pre-trib Rapture is a comfort for us also that we will escape the awful things that are coming upon the earth. We are to pray we will be counted worthy to escape it and not be ashamed when we see our Beloved face to face.

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. – Luke 21:36 KJV

Just a note: some translations say to “pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.” (New Living Translation) Taking other scriptures into account I believe this verse speaks of the pre-trib Rapture, not something we will go through

  1. Ok when you say fear for our brethren’s sake are you talking about pleading and crying out to God or just praying for them just wondering. That’s interesting about the different translations that talk about the Rapture. I agree the Rapture is a comfort for us but how is it we can be ashamed when we see our Beloved face to face?

    • Pray or plead, it needs to be done for our brethren’s sake. We still sin, though its a grief to us, so I believe it means we don’t want to be in a situation that grieves our Beloved when He comes. Let us not see Him look at us as He did Peter…

Thank you for our conversations, Bibleguy317. I mean it when I pray that God blesses you in all that you do for His Kingdom, by His power, and for His glory! And I’m thankful He answers that prayer and I have the privilege to see it in your blogging life. \o/

      • How do you feel when the Holy Spirit convicts you? Ashamed, as well we should be when we hurt our Beloved! That’s why we want to watch and pray as Jesus tells us to do. We are still saved and most beloved by our our Lord and Savior, like Peter.

Thank you for all of your blessings, too! I can attest to this, that God hears your blessings for me! To God be the glory! \o/

With all the two funerals I had the Only One and thing that keeps me sane is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Blessed Hope of the Pre Tribulation Rapture of the Church. I have to tell my when I have to look forward not back on how what I did and did not do when my first loved one was sick and died I will see both again and soon.

    • I know what you mean. I lost my loved one, my precious husband, right before your losses. Maria alerted me about your losses knowing I would understand at the time. I am glad she did. I’ve met a neat Brother who loves our Lord Jesus. Great family we are in! I hope my husband is in heaven but my hope is in seeing my Beloved Lord Jesus even if not one of my loved ones are there. A bonus big time if they are though! \o/

    • Yes, and yes. But I do wonder if I should have been there… When my late fiancee died, it was horrible! His doctors and nurses came out of the ER shaken and crying! The last I saw of him, he was fighting for his life, literally! Its what changed my life. I pray nobody dies without Christ! Its too horrible to see in this life! 😦

      • Yes I didn’t know at the time if I could handle seeing them as they were dying I wanted the memories of see them when they were well make sense. It’s tragic when anyone dies without Christ. I never said anything to anyone on here but I saw the second one who was dying I don’t have the words for it.

      • …there are none… You, no doubt, cry tears for the salvation of all those you know and love…and even those you don’t know! Evident in posts you have shared at your blog… May God grant you harvest day joy! \o/

      • What I meant was I have no words to describe what I saw except I guess horrible but just my guess can’t think of the right word to put. I don’t think I have ever cried for their Salvation is that a bad thing? The first one that dies they said and believed this.said I always put
my trust in Jesus and they believed that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again 3 day later so I know I will see them again in Heaven.

  3. I will say this when a Mormon dies or any brothers or sisters in Christ it affect me so I guess when I’m alone I do cry if I remember right because I know where that Mormon is unless in the very last moments they Received Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
