is the source of all wisdom, and the fountain of all comfort; let it dwell in you richly, as a well of living water, springing up unto everlasting life
Amen! In Spurgeon’s day “awful” meant awe-full (full of awe). I’ve waited 3 years for someone to comment on that prayer of Spurgeon’s concerning the “awful” part of it! 🙂
Just a side : my husband doesn’t like hearing “awesome!” because he believes the description should be reserved for God only. But, “awe full” goes even beyond “awe some.” \o/
Warnings have been neglected. His “watchmen on the wall” have been crying out for years. Hearts must change. I don’t like the words “awful throne” but the other words spoken is accurate because the warnings have been coming. I pray that ears will be opened to hear and eyes will be opened to see and hearts around the world will turn to God.
See my above comment to abundantlife and you will see that Spurgeon was going beyond “glorious” in his description of Jehovah’s throne. It was a most reverent term back in his day.
Thank you so much for the clarification. Thanks for sharing The Warning Neglected message. It is much needed in this day… like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, God is looking for His righteous. He is “Awe Full” and so worthy of all of our praise! Many blessings to you, your husband and entire family!
